New Year Beauty Buys

As part of my new year splurge/treat/ whatever you wana call it, I got a few more beauty items that I have been lusting after for a while now. I either havn't gotten round to getting them or they've been out of stock.

I havn't tried any of these products before so Im excited to use all of them.

Mac Fix +  - Seems like alot of people use this. I see this in make up tutorials on youtube, peoples blogs and review websites. So I bought it without even knowing exactly what it's for. So I did some research and it seems that has multi purpose uses.
You can spray it over your face to take the cakiness look away from your foundation, or spray it under as a base to make your skin look more radiant. You can also use this throughout the day to refresh your make up and hydrate the skin. It is also supposed to be a make up setter but it seems not many people prefer to use it as a make up set. I think Ill stick to my Urban Decay for that because it works well for me. I think I'll use this more for eyeshadows to intensify the colour. Excited!

Real Techniques Starter Set - I have 2 out of 3 of the Real Techniques sets, plus some of the extra brushes. This is the only set I didn't have but they are working so well for me and I am so in love with them that I am on a mission to collect them all! They're so reasonaly priced aswell Im just in love. Sorry Sigma, your 2nd in line.

I also needed a fine liner brush for gel liner and see if this works better for me than a thin small angled brush. And again, the Real Techniques seems to be the most reasonaly priced for a very fine brush.

Primark Beauty Lashes - £1! I couldn;t resist for £1! I only went to get some socks and I came across these. I couldn't resist! There was another style but they were too heavy and thick. Like Essex drama queen lashes. So I got these instead. They are really long but  I guess you don't know until you try. The band doesn't look too thick either, I guess they should be OK for £1!

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation - Um...ar...um....ar....10 years later I couldn't hold my urge back anymore in getting a new foundation. All of my foundations were way too dark for me or too pink toned as I have lost my tan. So it was either get a tan or get a new foundation. After seeing such great reviews on this foundation I couldn't resist. I tested it in Boots and it sets nearly matte. 54 Seemed the best match for me and it smells amazing!! I used it today for the first time and so far so good. Need to use it a little more first and I may do a review soon!

I also got a few extra items to organise my space more efficiently so I will have another post coming soon!

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? x

  2. You're making me wanna go shopping! I have the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and I honestly don't reallllllly get the hype. I'm not really a dewy finish lover when it comes to foundation so thats probably why. It smells awesome though.

  4. @Blair - The brushes in the UK are a little cheaper I think. The fine liner was like £7.99 and the set was around £25 which is really decent!

@Jacky - Im liking it so far but Im breaking out at the moment and Im not sure if it's the foundation or my new moisturiser.... boo =(

  7. I really have to pick up more brushes from Real Techniques. I only have their stippling brushes, but have heard amazing things about the rest of them. I don't know if you have the brand Mario Badescu in the UK, but its just like the Fix+, but way cheaper, about $7 us. Thanks for sharing.
