Man have I had a crazy new year and Christmas. Of course I went to the sales and of course I bought a few things. Sale or no sale. First plans were to get a dress and outfit for new years eve and since I havn't spent in so long (hence no blogging) I needed a little splurge. Plus I told bf that it could be my present since he was gona spend a f***in ridiculous amount on a bag for me...why? I'm so much happier with smaller things.. =)
So here's a few things I got. Some sale, some non-sale.
Furry bag - Miss Selfridge
So pretty! Thought it was a bit pricey for what it was? But all I saw was my sis in law nodding her head in utter determination. So I had to buy...thats all the push I needed.
Khaki pants - Zara
SALE! yes! I got a few things from Zara pre sale...*gutted* so when I saw these I didn't even try I just bought! they're such a nice fit, tight yet stretchy & Comfy. Don't get loose half way through the day either. Lurvleee =)
Chain Clutch - Miss Selfridge (non sale)
I saw this clutch the day before and passed...then I went shopping again and couldn't find a similar bag but in black but I liked it that much I still got it. I have a few outfit snaps I put together quickly on my Iphone that I will post below.
Chain Necklaces - Topshop
I saw and totally fell in love! There were these two dresses in the sale and these would of gone perfectly with them! Love love love!
Chain Necklace - Topshop & Earrings - Miss Selfridge
Can't beat a bit of chain...never goes out of fashion! And those bow earings were only like £3 so I couldn't pass! Sucker for jewellery =)
Urban Decay Setting Spray
This is normally £23 and I needed another one. The company that created this for Urban Decay are Skindinavia and it works just as well at a slightly lower price. Why not just get this hey? And you get beauty points too with Debenhams. And I got to the till and got told it was £19!
Real Techniques Brushes
I love the ones I have already so much, they have become so useful to me and important in my everyday routine that everytime I see one that I don't have I try collect them. Certain ones are always sold out so I always check for other stock. The angled one is the foundation brush and the bigger one is the expert face brush. Cant really figure out what to do with these yet, need to do my research to see what others think. Excited to use!
Mac Brushes 217 / 239 / 212 / 228
I figured I didn't have many Mac brushes. My main colelction are Sigma since I got the set last year and a few others including real techniques, revlon, topshop etc. I wanted more precision eye ones and the 217 was recommended to me by an artist for both eyeshadow and concealer! I was really surprised. Since then I've noticed quite a few MUA's use this brush for concealer.
STILA Eyeliner set
This was in the sale (I think) and after swatching I tried to wash this stuff off my arm and OMG when they say waterproof they're really not lying! When you see the swatches of a palette below you will see the "A" stained on still LOL =S These would be so great for my undereyes as they crease quite alot! Yayy can't wait!
Guerlain Liu palette
OMG. I was so happy when I saw this in the sale! I saw Raeview's review on this Liu collection. If you don't know Raeview type her in on youtube shes great for high end cosmetic recommendations. After seeing her review and swatches it triggered my interest. This palette was also on Temptalias top 10 palettes of 2012. I saw this for £27 like a minute before Debenhams was closing and was like, "Yep! Thats mine". Surprisingly the colours are quite light, yet buildable. A nice range of colours and great that it has two tones of reds...
These swatches are done on bare skin, no primer. The Lipsticks were amazing! Eyeshadows are OK but I think a primer or base is needed for a more intense colour payoff.
Either way, a great party palette.
MAC Russian Red - Mac Cherry Lipliner - Tom Ford Indian Pink Lipstick
OMG. OMGOMGOMG My most fave purchase! So much so I havn't touched it since I took photos of the swatches. I own a couple of Chanel lip products and even they were a splurge for me...but this I have been eyeing up since last year! I saw, I swatched, I walked past and past again...until this Christmas. Oh the colour! I figured I would choose a colour I would use alot if I'm going to splurge on a lipstick.
And Mac's Russian Red...I had to get ONE of their infamous reds..with a lipliner to match.
All three items are soooooooooooo pigmented! You really don't need much when using. Still forcing myself to wear the Tom Ford one...
Girls Aloud Kimberley Eyelashes
One of those "I dont know why I bought this" items. But hey! Sale! They were closing, whatever. Ill use them one day. I like the Girls Aloud lashes. They voluminous but very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Finally here's a snap of some items in action.
